Designing small spaces presents unique and rewarding challenges. For this compact backyard, measuring 25 feet by 15 feet with a 2-foot grade change, we crafted a thoughtful solution. The design features a retaining wall and a paver patio to maximize usable space, a louvered pergola for shade, and strategically placed trees and decorative screens to enhance privacy and block views of neighboring houses, the alley, and trash cans.
